DIY Tricks to Headlight Cleaning
When it comes to our vehicle’s headlights, there are two factors that contribute to the dreaded foggy look we’ve all seen and maybe even experienced: road debris and UV rays from the sun.
Both wear away at the protective coating on headlights. Here are some tips on how to clean your highlights yourself.
Cleaning with Toothpaste!?
Did you know that you can clean your headlights with toothpaste? First, you have to clean the headlight with windex and then wipe it all off with a cloth. Then, you can apply a small amount of toothpaste (Arm & Hammer works fine!) onto the headlight. Toothpastes with baking soda work the best. Just scrub the toothpaste onto the surface and then apply a sealant to the finished product.
We recommend testing a small corner of the headlight first to ensure safest results.
Take Your Car Into a Cleaning Professional
Another great option can be taking your car into a professional to clean the headlights. While this might be more expensive than the DIY technique, it will be significantly cheaper than replacing the headlights altogether. A pro of taking it to a professional is that you can trust that it will be done right.
