My Car Heater Won’t Work
The cold is making its way into our lives, which means it’s important we make sure our vehicle’s heating system is up to par. Read our latest blog to learn more.
We don’t know about you, but what makes the cold bearable in our minds is that we have the option to get warm and toasty in our cars using the heating system. However, if it is slow to warm up, doesn’t blow much air out or the air is cold, you could have an issue with your heating system.
Your vehicle’s heating system works by blowing air from a hot engine over a heater core, which in turn, funnels it through the vents of your car or truck. However, if something is amiss or your vehicle is experiencing heating issues, you may have an inoperative heating system.
Check out the most common causes of heating issues:
Not enough coolant
Without enough coolant, your car may experience heating issues. Make sure you bring your vehicle on by so we can check it out because if you add too much coolant, you could deal with a huge mess and possible catastrophe, so take it seriously and safely!
Water leak
If your radiator is leaking water or coolant, you could have a crack somewhere that needs to be repaired. And not only that, but that crack could affect other important components of your vehicle, so it’s important to address that sooner rather than later.
Blower fan isn’t working
The hot air will struggle to come out of the vents and/or system if the fan is broken or not working how it should. It could be a small clog or your vehicle may be in need of a full replacement. Just have us take a look.
Broken thermostat
A broken thermostat will make the car think that it’s warm in the cabin when you’re actually freezing! Make sure that the thermostat is reading the temperature properly so that your time in your vehicle is bearable.
If any of these reasons sound like what your vehicle is experiencing, bring it on by the shop & we’d be happy to take a look at your ride’s heating system. Until then, stay warm and cozy and have a Merry Christmas.
