Five Items Every Vehicle Owner Should Have
Emergency situations are very hard to predict. That’s why it’s better to be prepared in the case that one arises.
From something as big as a car accident to as small as having a dead phone in an unfamiliar place, here are a few items that will help you out in a pinch:
Spare tire. In the case of a flat tire, it will be essential to have a properly inflated spare tire. Spare tires are usually located under the trunk, underneath the vehicle, or mounted on the back of a vehicle. Make sure you keep a jack and a lug wrench handy for the tire change too.
Quality charger. If you’re driving in an unfamiliar place or a long road trip, it’s essentially to have a quality portable charger. This could be one you plug into your car or a charged power bank that you can plug your phone into. Having a charger will ensure your phone doesn’t die while you need maps while driving, and your music can keep on playing too.
First aid kit. In the event that there is a car accident or simply an accident where your car is accessible, it’s smart to have a first aid kit to treat minor injuries that may occur. The kit should include bandages, gauze pads, disposable gloves, antibiotics, and much more.
Thermal blanket. If your car is broken down in the middle of winter, it’s important to have a thermal blanket that can keep you warm until help arrives. You should have a normal blanket at minimum, but a thermal blanket will keep you much warmer.
Jumper cables. Not enough of us keep a pair of jumper cables in our car in the event that we wound up with a dead battery. Consider buying a pir to keep in the trunk of your car in the event that it’s needed. Better safe than sorry!
Stay safe on the road by having at least a few of these items in your vehicle at all times. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. If you need further assistance with making your car as safe as possible to drive, come on by and we’ll be happy to help!
